The name Sanctus Lumen Christi is a Latin expression with the English
equivalent as ‘The Holy Light of Christ’. Like all names, the school’s name is a
reflection of the light in us. One who carries the light of Christ is like a candle
set on the hill that cannot be hidden. Men and society gain illumination via
this light. The school is also referred to as ‘Semper Fidelis’.

The school was established on sound principles of educational
prospect. The progenitors stated ‘we have watched with interest the
development of educational institutions in the new federal territory, Abuja
since early eighties. As we monitor the children produced from these
institutions, we came to the conclusion that some important aspects of
growth are being compromised. To contribute to the educational
development of the community, the management decided to provide a
school that would address most of the problems faced by parents, kids and the society at large. We intend to make the cost affordable, without
compromising the quality of academics and to instil values essential for the
complete development of a child.’

The school therefore was officially established and took off operations on
the 7thof November, 2005. This was under Chief OlusegunObasanjo’s
administration. The then Minister of F.C.T was allamNasir Ahmad EI-Rufai,
presently the governor of Kaduna state. The Minister of Education was
erudite Mrs. ChinweObaji (June 2005 to June 2006).

Sanctus Lumen Christi School is located on a seven thousand five
hundred (7500) square metre piece of land in a peaceful hub of the capital,
Durumi, Area 1. It is under Abuja Municipal Area Council. It is privileged to
be located a distance from the major express way of Area 1. This shields it
from the boisterous and commercial atmosphere of the city, whilst being
easily accessible by all and sundry. It is just behind the old Federal
Secretariat. On entering the Sanctus Lumen Christi School gate, you have on
your immediate left, the security post, from where the eagle watchful eyes
of trained and experienced security personnel see people and things.
